No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

sammy kinda looks destroyed to me, just like jack did. apparently he was pretty much shell shocked in the room after last game.

who the fuck knows with goalies but he might be toast. he's been unplayable this year and was just as bad to end last year.

maybe he can bounce back i dunno. but maybe Jones can have a decent run too.

If Woll can come back healthy and give us starting quality goaltending prior to the deadline, then it has to be pretty tempting to use his capspace elsewhere if you have a fungible Marty Jones backup and a top prospect crushing the nhl.
Whenever a goalie starts crying and complaining to the media, over basically nothing in his case, I have to believe he’s mentally broken. I started selling Sammy stock as soon as he started yapping and sharing his depression with the world.

So yeah....

Nephew is 22nd in the NHL in 5v5 P/60 (150+ minutes) with 11% shooting and 11% OISH, both of which are totally normal and maybe even a little bit low for a player as skilled as Nicky, so it's not luck based. 8th among LW'ers

Higher than Ehlers, Fiala, Panarin, Bratt, Skinner, Kyle Connor....Jason Robertson, Filip Forsberg

and fuck face won't play him.

He has the 2nd fewest Corsi Events Against/60 among all Toronto forwards, the lowest shots against/60, 3rd lowest xGA, 3rd lowest chances and HD chances/60

Now, I get that some of that is from extreme sheltering, but wouldn't you see the very positive defensive results on top of the production and start giving him a bigger role....but fucking no. Couldn't dream of cutting into those prime Kampf-Gregor hard matching minutes against top 10 players of all time.

Gotta always have an anchor or two to drag the whole team down.

Also I wouldn’t lump in Gregor with Kampf. Gregor has been pretty decent in his role.

When Keefe uses him as part of a "shut down" line, he gets caved.

Hes not that guy. There's a reason one of the worst teams in the league let him walk. He's an okay 4th liner, thats it.

Timmins is bringing everything anyone could have hoped Klingberg was going to.

Which means that fucking clown will bench him at the first opportunity.
My first reaction to the Klingberg signing was deep concern that this would block Timmins. Because as I stated and was disagreed with heavily by some, I was pretty confident that Timmins was better than Klingberg. I still don't know exactly how good he is, but he's clearly at the very least a perfect fit for a team with minimal offense from their d as a third pair guy.

Thank you hockey gods you beautiful fucks.

Honestly, things couldn’t have played out better (aside from, obviously, not signing Klingberg in the first place).

Timmins dominates camp to put himself back on the map with new management. Then he gets injured and goes on LTIR just long enough to avoid having to go on waivers and wait for Klingberg to die to open a roster spot & place in the lineup for him by the time he’s ready to return.

Now the guy just needs to stay healthy for the rest of the way. And hopefully avoid being replaced in the lineup by Dubas-esque depth D acquisitions at the deadline.
