And god bless us. We were all fawning over his defensive play in preseason and desperately tried to convince ourselves that he's not that bad. But we knew. We all knew.

I learned that one player can infact torpedo a 4th line so bad it sinks the rest of the team.

As a “play the hot hand” absolutist with regards to goaltending, I’m all aboard that bandwagon.

The other bit is, we know Jones sucks (other than dumdum ME). If you want any hope of having a second goalie heading into the playoffs it has to be Sammy.

Yep, we're like a gambler at the casino who went on a run and made a pile of money when it comes to Jones. You have to know when to cash out before you give it back to the house.

Might actually be able to trade him for something at the deadline now rather than lose him on waivers trying to send him back down when Woll is healthy.
