No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

So using Net Rating, if i try to use every single possible ex-leaf, even if they weren't really ex-leafs like McCann and Rodrigues, and ignoring that the ex-leafs team would be way, way over the cap, and ignoring that most of the ex-leafs i slot in at C aren't really Cs, the current leafs team still has a better Net Rating than the best possible ex-leafs team:

Bunting -3
Lafferty -5
Holl -8
Schenn -8
Acciari -9
ZAR n/a

all had significant playoffs roles for us last year. fucking Keefe.

What sucks is we could've easily had Hyman and Verhaeghe with this roster.

Verhaeghe whatever, who knew. But Hyman, even before he learned how to channel the power of the yellow sun, was valuable. If he grew into this version of himself with us, we'd have been pretty impossible to beat. And in retrospect, that they gave up his forechecking, physical play, grinding style, really was something we missed in the playoffs.

This year's potential playoffs lines/pairings vs last year's playoffs lines/pairings, using current Net Ratings for both:

Of course, like last year, Keefe could easily sabotage this year's playoffs lines worse than my optimistic semi-sabotage lines here.

All he needs to do is put a Gregor in for Holmberg and a Benoit in for Liljegren there and he can bury us again.

He never thinks pass, which is both why that number is high and what limits him but he’s a gamer and a goal scorer. Definitely a player.

Into the top-5 at all strengths.

At 5v5 it was 46.6% with Klingberg (30th) and now it's at 53.4% without Klingberg (6th).
