does anyone know if you can use normal IR indefinitely to keep another player on the roster?

Because once we get rid of Benning and Myers we don't need ltir to be cap compliant even counting Krok and Patches on the cap.

but we would have too many guys for the 23 man roster - so would normal IR let us keep a 24th guy indefinitely without us needing to use ltir?

Yes. The Coyotes did it for years with multiple LTIR guys on IR yo meet the cap floor.

yeah so literally we can get off LTIR entirely just by waiving our 8th (Myers), 9th (Mermis), and 10th (Benning) dmen.

just have Patches and Jarnkrok on regular IR.

and we'd have an extra forward and an extra dman still.

if both patches and jarnkrok ever got healthy at the same time (with no other injuries) then eventually we would have to dump one other forward.
