No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

If you could get Dobson for any combination of the prospects is a no brainer.

Also if you can get Byram thats a pretty great addition too.

Karlsson I don't have much interest in without Rielly being in the deal and significant retention.

Brayden Schenn: Credit to Schenn, he’s been really good since Jim Montgomery took over behind the Blues bench. Before that, Schenn had 11 points in 23 games and a 44 percent xG rate. Since? He’s up to 26 points in 37 games and 51 percent of the expected goals. He’s been great, proving he still has game in a top-six role.
The issue is he’s probably paid too much for where he’d fit on a contender: the third line. Schenn has three years left on a deal that pays $6.5 million and at 33, it’s unlikely that rapid cap growth can make that deal palatable. Over the remainder of the deal, Schenn is closer to a $4 million player.
If the Blues can extract positive value despite that, it will be quite the coup for the organization. Schenn looks rejuvenated, but unless there’s some salary retention, his contract still looks like a potential roadblock.

Counter to Burch's argument. Doesn't justify dealing for him he has been better than his argument suggests

One thing I take from this post is being 7th is exactly what we need. I need the best player outside of my top six on the third line.

but then the other stats add to the confusion.

Adding your 7th best forward at the deadline is fine. But not when the reported costs is some of your best assets for a guy that makes 6.5 million and is well into the back 9 of his career.

28 yr old Brayden Schenn signed for 3 years for a 1st and some stuff? Sure, let's go. 33 yr old Brayden Schenn signed for 3 more years? Nope.

There isn't a single prospect that I would lose sleep over the leafs trading. But yeah hopefully they target the right guy.
I kinda want to keep Cowen. I think he could be that rattie player with offense like a marchand, tucker

But other than that I'm fine

I've gone against Schenn. I don't like that and I hope tre is looking at this rationally...especially if the speculated ask. The blues aren't getting that GTFOH
