Thing is he was never great, just a good 2nd line C.

Now he's a subpar 2nd line C but probably an above average 3C.

But he's paid like a good 2C for 3 more years until age 36.
 
A name I mentioned earlier that I have interest in as the 2C to then push JT to line 3 with Patches and Domi is Mika Zibanajad

He centred with Willy at four Nations and he's more of an offensive player so he's the 2c

With salary retention of course
 
Zibs has finally been moved to the wing since the Miller trade, and that's where he should stay imo. He's been ill-served being forced to play C the last few years i think. Much better suited to the wing.
 
I choose to believe that's him saying all the "big" names in the public rumours are BS.

which is good because those "big" names aren't actually bigtime players.

so yeah Brad is right about the East not being open.

FLA and TBL are on a tear and super talented and the Atlantic is still clearly the best division in hockey.
 
If they do then Mitch is gone as a free agent right into his biggest crushes arms. Guaranteed.

even with krok and dewar coming back it looks like the patches and tanev owies are gonna let Brad get away with never having to actually make a hard roster decision prior to the trade deadline this year.

if we had ever been fully healthy (or even one short of fully healthy) he'd have been forced to waive somebody.
