Hard for anyone to look good in this system they are playing
 
What a shit show. Laughton is probably a worse C than Kampf. I don't think you are using him in every dzone faceoff against Kucherov in the playoffs. Or in 3v3 OT.

Counter argument: I've said this exact thing twice already. 3 coaches later and they still suck (though this is easily the worst version of the team yet).

Except we never sucked until now. It was always a good to really good team that just lacked a little je'ne sais quoi....and scoring depth, and a RHD shutty pair guy.

So of course now that we've solved those roster problems, we implement a system to make it all suck shit, because #Leafy.
 
Our overall suckage seems to have increased a lot this year. Was largely masked by our goalies but now they’re being assholes again. Nerdies were never good.

Yes but last year everything was blamed on Keefe. At a certain point we have to acknowledge that this group is probably broken. Too much losing can do that.
 
This group is probably broken. I think you can judge the players fine. It’s not like Laughton was way better in Philly for years. There is a reason they moved him to wing a long time ago.

But they also significantly downgraded at coach.

More than one coach can suck at once eh. "This group" is the same 3.5 guys who have dragged the organization kicking and screaming to most of what success they've had over the last 7 years, and seem to be the only reason we win games to this day. This group isn't the same as last year's group either. They've replaced the 3 of the top 5 defenders, the 1A Goalie, about 1/4 the forward group.

Shit, go back 2 years and this was our playoff lineup

I agree! And I also agree that elite teams can win cups with shit coaches! See Berube, Craig. So no, I don't think that's the biggest issue with this version of the leafs.

More than one thing can be an issue at once though!
