One or two excuses & probably quite limited! The "ah fuck, here we go again" playoff thread

I don't love using NST's xgf% metric but i can't run a query on both linemates and by date on evolving, so here's how the D-pairings have done this year since the trade deadline, via NST:

Since the deadline this year:

Rielly-Lyubushkin: 117:00, 50.7xgf%, 46.0gf%
Rielly-Brodie: 45:05, 61.8xgf%, 63.2gf%

(lol. lmao, even.)

Rielly-McCabe: 37:36, 61.8xgf%, 88.2gf%
Rielly-Liljegren: 25:10, 65.3xgf%, 100.0gf%

Benoit-McCabe: 124:53, 56.1xgf%, 58.0gf%
Brodie-McCabe: 69:31, 41.7xgf%, 35.0gf%
McCabe-Liljegren: 20:40, 80.0xgf%, 50.0gf%

Edmundson-Liljegren: 94:06, 48.0xgf%, 76.8gf%

Brodie-Lyubushkin: 73:31, 44.9xgf%, 61.7gf%

Giordano-Timmins: 57:56, 67.5xgf%, 57.0gf%
Benoit-Timmins: 42:58, 50.1xgf%, 48.1gf%
Giordano-Brodie: 27:18, 69.8xgf%, 100.0gf%

fuck me our trade deadline made us so much worse.

come on hockey gods injure these fucking new pylons please.

stacking Lindholm-McAvoy together should be good for us.

They're going to go up against Matthews most of the time so if we spread out into the 3 line offense the other lines should have a much easier time.

This is the first time in a while the Leafs have had a clear skill advantage.

So this year, it's legitimately a pure test of their will.

The most optimistic thing for me is that neither of their goalies has been any good in the playoffs (Swayman 8gms, .901 -- Ullmark 8gms, .888) and without goaltending that team ain't much.

Then again, no team makes goalies look better in the playoffs than our leafs.

(p.s. Leafs goalies in the playoffs - Samsonov 17gms, .902 - Woll 4gms, .915 - Jones 63gms, .917 - Murray 51gms, .921).
Ohmigod a Murray - jones tandem would be amazing.

I know They are a good coached team, with a couple game breakers and good goalies and the models don’t favors us, but at this point in their development there is no way the Leafs should lose to this Bruins team.

The Bruins aren’t a great team.
