OT: American Politics

I kinda think FL or NE are more likely than MT at this point, unfortunately...

sure looks like 51-49 for the GOP in the senate, BUT....there's enough interesting races - FL, TX, MT, NE - that it wouldn't be a huge shocker to see the dems pull out the one seat they need still.

there's an independent running against Deb Fischer (no Dem I don't think) that is polling within the margin of error (+/- 1 from Fischer)

he seems legit - Dan Osborn
helluva lot of undecideds in those august/sept polls 15-23%...

but i checked out his platform and a lot of good/popular stuff there that you could see him voting with dems on bigger policy goals. fingers crossed.

what's sad is that so many Dems are still in such denial about the hardball the GOP is so willing to play, and won't play it themselves.

nuke the filibuster. get statehood for PR and DC. scotus term limits.

just do it.
You know the GOP, they smirk when they try to circumvent, and cry when the dems do it legally.

in fairness to NE, they're entitled to change how they allot their EC votes. they're actually the extreme minority now, even if the current approach is more fair and representative
