OT: American Politics

I've read the semafor article and Kahn/Ryan spends the entire meeting side stepping criticism and crying about the critics.

Even that section quoted in your post is pure batshit insanity....we're preparing for the possibility of the DOJ being weaponized, maybe even against us....what in the actual fuck? How are you not screeching from every roof top about how dangerous that possibility is? They're treating the barbarians being at the gate, who they very much identify as barbarians and further identify as a potential existential threat to them as if it's normal that they're at the fucking gates.

it's insane.

"we are clearly fair and balanced you silly libs and oh btw we are getting constant threats from one side not that that's newsworthy or aynything."

MAGA is so unbelievably confident. They've been convinced that it's a lock and it will be a landslide. If Kamala wins, shit is gonna get ugly.
It's all bravado. Theyve known for a while that they're going to lose and lose big. All they want to do is muddy the waters so that the inevitable landslide that's coming on Tuesday looks too good to be true.

I think i posted one of these tweets before.

But I wonder if Nate posted this, did a triple take, jaw agape, and realized he just said his entire life's work was meaningless and misleading.

One thing I'm pretty fascinated by is the obession I see pollsters have about the 2020 results being poor, but never a mention of actually performing worse in 2022 with no built in weirdo covid election excuse that obviously exists for 2020.

This brings up an interesting point....

So...I think expecting a Kamala win is the way to go at this point, there's probably room for a 2016ish needle threading but it's looking a bit dodgy imo. So we're probably going to see something more like 2020 where Trump loses, screeches election fraud...but what then?

Everyone who carried water for him got mollywhopped. Fox got smashed for a bunch of money, Newsmax runs disclaimers before, during, and after anyone mentions the 2020 election. Rudy is poor now, etc, etc.

Which company is lining up to get fist fucked in 2024 for Trump's delusions?

Male/Female split is right to 2020, but racial is way off. This has 71% of the electorate as white ('member back when I said the 2020 census overcounted white people?...it was 67% of the electorate in 2020, but the census overweighted them) and 11% black & Hispanic (13% each 2020 electorate). In their crosstabs, just the registered dem vs rep split was 80% to 6% with 14% indy. The hispanic splits was 49-27-21. Taking away 4% of the white electorate and swapping it for 2020 numbers would have this poll at closer to a +3.5 Kamala, and that's with getting into the weeds about Republicans voting Kamala at a higher rate than Dems voting Trump, how the the indy's are going to split, etc.

Or yeah, they could be right that black and hispanic turnout is going to drop significantly compared to 2020.
