The danger with Trump is that he'll just ignore the levels of power and rule more or less by decree. If process gets in his way, he'll do away with process.

There is a distrust of the neo-liberal/con establishment and the anti-Trump sentiment didn't outweigh that.

Trump winning the popular vote is as strong of an indicator that the Dems need to move their party into the new populist generation. That probably should have been obvious as early as the Obama campaign, but definitely after Trump in 2016 and Bernie in 2020.

Again, what the Dems or anyone else does now is moot. It's over. Try to grasp the finality of what was American democracy because it no longer exists.

Great day for white, heterosexual male Americans. Not so good for women, gays, trans, non-whites. The country borders of Ukraine and Taiwan won't be protected. Unconstitutional laws will be enacted and enforced because the Constitution no longer applies.

And wars will not end. But they will come to America. It is the inevitable lot of any dictatorship.

If that's your long term plan, buy a place sooner rather than later. The expat (white people talk for immigrant...lol) friendlier places where english is commonly spoken (PV, Merida, Mayan Riviera), and the nicer big cities (CDMX, Puebla, Guadalajara) are already getting less "mexican" in price. Learn spanish, not care if you live in a beach community, be more flexible on what ammenities are important to your lifestyle and it's still mexican affordable and should stay that way for some years (San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, Morelia, San Miguel, a few others).

I think he'll get held to higher standards by just about everyone involved. Until proven otherwise I still think Trump is an abberration in what he gets away with. He's done it his entire life. Vance is a normie. He won't be able to do the sales job on his authoritarianism that Trump does.
