One Biden aide told me that Harris steered away from such hard-edged messaging at the urging of her brother-in-law, Tony West, Uber’s chief legal officer. (West did not immediately respond to a request for comment.) To win the support of CEOs, Harris jettisoned a strong argument that deflected attention from one of her weakest issues. Instead, the campaign elevated Mark Cuban as one of its chief surrogates, the very sort of rich guy she had recently attacked.

What's interesting is that the polling clearly showed a hard swing away from Kamala with a few weeks left to go.

And now that we know the polling was largely correct, then yeah it sure seems like she had very real momentum early on and then completely squandered it.

Here we were wondering why Walz and other surrogates suddenly went quiet when they had started out gangbusters on the attack all over the media.

Normal politics would become an actual thing again when Trump dies though. The cult dies with the cult leader. There will be a lot of people looking at the actual policies through a set of cold eyes within a few weeks of the body going cold. The policies are not popular, somehow that greasy shitbag is.

No one likes corporate dems. They were previously tolerated due to lack of better options. Looks like even that is dead and gone. Those are people like your favourite Nonna btw.
 
Yeah, but Vance doesn’t care about being popular and will do Elon’s bidding.

Trump will break up with Elon within 18 months and enjoy the benefits of Biden’s CHIP and Infrastructure bills

But normal rules will apply to R congressman and senators regarding getting elected, etc. Deeply unpopular shit won't be able to slide by on the power of Trump. Trump has the republicans under his thumb because he's the centre of gravity MAGA revolves around, and MAGA is the centre of gravity the Republicans revolve around. Remove the centre of gravity and what is in your best interests to continue getting elected as a congressman or senator changes significantly.

Yeah, like Vance would be more ruthlessly efficient at putting the plan in place. He'd probably have 3/4 of Project 2025 done by July.

But the cult won't follow him when he starts to lose the messaging, and it will lead to a riot against him. With Trump, he won't get all the pieces done because he'll be distracted by a shiny object. But the stuff he'll get done his people will think is the best thing in the world. He'd shoot them in the knee and suddenly crawling will become the new fashion statement.
