Turns out I wasn't exactly accurate. Greenland withdrew from the EU in the 80's apparently when they received partial sovereignty from Denmark. They're currently looking at rejoining (something like 65% in favour in polls from 2024) so this:

Is a land border with Greenland, so also one with Denmark (read about the Whisky Wars if you want a bit of a geopolitics chuckle), but not with the EU for now.

The way to get an EU type deal is to join the EU. We would never get a deal like that with Pax Americana. And you're right. You wouldn't suddenly go from making $80K CAD to $80K USD. You'd make $39K USD and have no healthcare.

Nope. But don't fall for the "take him seriously, but not literally" stuff. He means most of what he says and that Peter Thiel line is meant to gaslight us into being Trump whisperers, trying to decipher what he means from what is 5D chess, etc. None of it is 5D chess, he means all of it.

Actual invasion I can't see even Donnie doing. Propaganda campaign using his sock puppet social media owners to push public opinion? 100%. That in conjunction with a trade war (which he thinks he can win because he's an idiot and has deep, deep misunderstandings about how international trade works) to try to push us into just accepting it? Again, probably 100%.

Tanks rolling across the Gordie Howe? Highly doubtful.
