I was familiar his (non-academic) stuff before started with the NYT - the dude has a mind like a steel trap. With the NYT he sometimes wandered into topics that weren’t his forte and maybe should have avoided.
But still, in his areas of expertise, the dude is mega. Coincidentally: he’s no fan of crypto.

Even staying on my own feed, and watching a video of a cute dog on the “we rate dogs” account, the video that Twitter auto-loaded and auto-played immediately after was a clip of Alex Jones ranting about the LA fire being a psyop, or whatever the fuck.
And the replies section to anyone objecting to the Canada annexation shit is a flood of blue checkmark MAGA-bots saying variations of “well ackshually, I’ve talked to 10 people in Canada and ALL of them want to join the US”, “fuck you cuck, if you don’t want to be an American we’ll make you and you can’t stop us!”, “all of the things you like about Canada are subsidized by the US and we don’t want to pay anymore”, etc.

I am not a conspiracy theorist and hate the MAGA idiots on X, but there is some truth to this.
My sister and brother in law lost their second home in Malibu yesterday due to the fire and had to evacuate their main residence last night in west LA.
According to both there is an arsonist somewhere. No way this is normal in terms of fire patterns for SCal. It’s insane what’s happening with random fires starting away from the main fire in the palisades.

Yeah.... are you saying theres truth to the fact that X is spreading conspiracy theories... or there's truth that there must be someone starting the fires.
Because there is something called wind that allows these fires to spread from the palisades to hollywood.
maybe it's jewish wind turbines to go along with the jewish space lazers.
