His entire philosophical point, misses the point. No one is pining for direct democracy. I don't want to queue up in a line of 15,000 people every friday to have my say on what the capital gains tax rate for 2025 should be. This is why we practice representative democracy, in which I very fucking much expect the person getting paid out of our taxes to represent me to show up for the vote with a few hundred other people every friday and make the choice that person thinks is best for the country, and have democratic redress should that person not vote in interests I find suitable.
This was the compromise we made with the "ruling class" so that we would stop cutting their fucking heads off. They really do appear to have forgotten that this was a compromise.
