I definitely wish it was a bit less hokey sounding - but all these things they’re talking about are legitimate, valid concerns really.

The Right is really good at getting their catchphrases out - “orange man bad” makes it sound like they’re just all petty complaints like… *wrong condiment on a hot dog* or *wears tan suit* instead of *president declares himself king* or *president threatens to annex longtime ally*

And because it's Trump, there's a new firehose of terrible-ness every day. Like this whole "only the Prez+AG understand the law" thing will be old news by the weekend.

I mean, I'm just astounded at what these fuckwads are doing.

I don't pretend to know a lot about politics and running countries and whatnot but I know enough to see that this bunch of shitheads are the worst possible bunch to have any authority whatsoever.

If Canadians don't wake the fuck up and prevent Poilievre from taking power we're gonna be in the same fucking boat.

I'm so fucking mad and disgusted that I can't even think straight anymore. I gotta quit reading this stuff for a while I guess, my wife just said something to me while I was frothing at the mouth over this bullshit and I snapped and yelled at her needlessly but it just came out before I could even think about it.

Now I'm in the doghouse on account of getting too wrapped up in all this shit. I feel really bad about doing that, she didn't deserve that at all and I feel like shit about it.

Feel free to ignore all this babbling, I probably shouldn't even post it but doing so has helped me settle down so there's that I guess.

Anyway, I gotta make ammends to Mrs. Slinger now, looks like we'll be going out for a good meal somewhere today.

While I am all in on Carney, I don't think a CON minority government would have the same impact as the GOP in USA. Reason: Citizen United vs Canada's election act.

Right now, even the Dems aren't fighting because Musk would fund their primary opponents if they did.

Honestly, take care of yourself bud. And if the doom scrolling is getting to you, absolutely take a break.

I had to take a complete break from this thread and news in general for almost a month after Trump was elected, because the constant murderous rage was having an impact on my real life. Was definitely the right call, and I’ll probably have to do it again at some point.

Even the bluest, most liberal States in the USA are still way too whackadoo and far-right for my liking.

And those three states also have a higher combined population than Canada by about 11 million, so it’d still be more like them annexing Canada than the other way around.
