OT: American Politics

china has no reason to pivot off russian oil tho.

Would be a weird relationship. Trump hates China, Trump wants to suck Putin’s cock and get all the pee out all over himself, China maybe gets mad with Russia if they start taking Trump’s side to everything? Not sure how Russia co-exists with both Russia and China while trump is in power and just hates on them.

It's less complicated than that though imo. The Chinese economy needs about 11 million barrels of oil per day to function

Do you notice something about Western Canadian Select?

We have about a 2.5 million barrel per day overhang in production vs domestic usage. TMX can carry 890K barrels per day as of the expansion completion last May. China will take every drop of cheap oil we want to send them. They have the refinery setup for handling our product. The most price competitive Russian product is their medium heavy urals oil, $8-9 per barrel more expensive. The Chinese would happily take every drop we can get to port on the west coast.

it's why something like BRICS was always a joke.

and if Trump wants to be one of those types of countries having those type of adversial untrustworthy "partners" that's fine, but the rest of the democratic world has to seriously band together and make sure they have a solid bloc of their own to support itself. this has to be political and economic.

and if they can do it, then it makes it much easier for the US to see it's errors and potentially bounce back post-trump.

has there been any change in the company's data or is this just the elon aura dissipating?
There has been nothing but bad news about the corporation for several months now. I wouldn't say anything has necessarily changed, but the data certainly hasn't improved!

Keep in mind tsla is still higher than it was pre election. It just gave back a bunch of the "CEO is co-president" bounce.

It's interesting, the equal weight S&P etf is solidly green today. I had a dude that manages a $100m ETF tell me to put any new money in that instead of spy right now. There are not many professionals out there recommending the s&p 500 at this stage.

Tldr on the reasoning: the mega caps (i.e. most tech) are overvalued and need to correct
