Since I'm not running for office I can say that I don't think that CECOT prison should exist even for convicted terrorists. Shit is traumatizing to even read about. I need to start avoiding that particular subject.

I get why El Salvador specifically felt the need to do something so drastic to solve their organized crime problem. As a society they were on the verge of collapsing into a state controlled entirely by their organized crime gangs. If a government can't provide basic security needs, it's not a government.

America already incarcerates more people than any country on the planet, and the vast majority of their safety and security issues are own goals with guns for tots & lack of a social safety net. This is entirely unnecessary for them
