OT: American Politics

And what will Amerikans do about it? Nothing

Eh, you're looking at this in the context of right now, where there's already been a bagload of SCOTUS decisions to lay the groundwork to give Donald the powers he's using right now.

If the now was then, this would all be different. But then is now now, so it's all fucked up. I completely understand the confusion though.

Sure. But I didn't think Americans would just roll over so easily. Not even pretending to push back.

Agreed, and I've ranted a fair bit about that. But to a lot of Americans, the canary in their personal coal mine is SCOTUS. It's one of those norms and guardrails and shit. A non captured SCOTUS probably puts Trump in a box during Trump 1, and their fuckery during the Biden admin was a major reason the investigations into Trump moved so slow.

I don't think you can seperate the two. Dunno, maybe I'll be proven wrong if SCOTUS drops a ruling Trump doesn't like and he publicly ignores it.

i saw a chart which showed protests are at least double so far than they were his first term.

the aoc/bernie tour is also more aggressive than anything we saw at any point last time.
