I really don't know where else to put this random thought so...

When I am approaching an attempt at discussion with my nutter family I sometimes, when asked how I can discount all their invisible evidence vis a vis election fraud, I sometimes start with mentioning flat-earthers, and how right now on this planet there are people who believe the earth is flat.

The next part was going to be "and not only do they believe the earth is flat, they believe there is a global conspiracy to hide the truth from us."

maybe the secret is to beat them at their own game.

quite literally just make up something outlandish - like an alien colony is preparing an imminent invasion and everyone needs to do xxxxxx to stop it (get vaccinated, lol?). just completely fabricate something, but refuse to consider the possibility you are wrong. and then argue and argue and argue until they have lost their minds.
