OT: American Politics

Never seen anyone so happy that someone died as the right in the US who think they have Obama. If I were a conspiracy guy, I would say the GOP orchestrated the death to profit from it.

Obama should say that to Romney in the debate, "you must be the only American happy with the death because you think you can score cheap political points from it".

Any campaign manager worth his salt would have Obama avoiding a lengthy discussion on the death and in fact instruct him to move along. This is not going to be defensible. Sure they will try and blame some shlub in the chain but Obama's statements over the past few weeks about it really paints a coverup picture. So what is it? Obama covered it up or Obama is inept and didn't know wtf was going on? Neither would look good in a debate. Smarmy remarks like the one you post here would make things worse.

Romney seems happy. Fox is happy.

I know you and many of your ilk hate Obama, that is fine (yes I know you voted for him but only because you thought McCain was worse).

You know Romney won't do any better, especially foreign policy wise as the quagmire the US finds itself in in the Middle East can't be resolved by anyone. Still Romney will yap about some mysterious cover up, claim he will be different even though his policies as set out in his campaign will be no different foreign policy wise than Obama's.

Anyway, if they vote for Bain Capital November 6, they get what they deserve.

Count, you come across as a lowbrow homer when you talk like this.

Just want to point out how unbelievably refreshing it is to see someone on this board utter something as simple as these two words........everyone's so caught up in proving to everyone how smart they are, no one is ever willing to acknowledge when someone else makes a decent point or that someone provided something that enabled them to become more informed.

More of us (myself included) should follow this lead.

It takes an epiphany for someone to realize they were getting caught up in the bullshit of partisanship. I recommend everyone take a stab at getting involved in a political campaign (at a high level) to really learn how bullshit it all is. Not just comprehend it but really feel it. Eye opening. I still haven't watched FOX since April 2010.

I actually went back to posts I made 4 years ago and I am ashamed of some of the things I was trying to champion. Still doesn't mean I like Obama as a leader though.

Habsy, you and I had it out for a few pages... that was some ugly crap. Both sides.

I never considered myself a socialist and I am not... but I do lean left. I guess the true definition of a liberal. (small L)

When it was Bush vs Obama.. The right just emboddied the stereotype. Wealthy, White, older conservatives, that were sneaky in so much as to make the rules favour them at all costs.

I felt the full brunt of the Right/FOX machine in 2010. **** them. Not that MSNBC or CNN proved helpful, they just weren't malicious in their attacks. FOX invited my candidate on Eric Bolling's show. We went over certain topics and then agreed to format. Once on they ****ing lambasted my candidate, who was an independent conservative, for taking votes away from the Republican Candidate. Both my Candidate and I know the Pub Candidate and he was, and still is, a scumbag of the highest order. The man has no scruples, has ****ed over many business people and is generally slime incarnate. We were giving conservatives another chose. FOX didn't like this. Hell we even had an off the record conversation with Carl Cameron (who is surprisingly a straight shooter) from Fox and the conversation started with him saying "Do you want to know why FOX is ****ing you"? We were floored.

Dude, to hear it coming straight and narrow from a top reporter like Cameron... yeah it was flooring.

Fox News is not a news organization, and it never has been.

They grudgingly include a news room to give themselves some semblance of respectability.

Don't even get me started on dealing with Glenn Beck and his ****ing crowd. Wow what bullshit. You know you're really awful when you can't last on Fox.

I remember my guy actually asking Bolling if he knew anything about the Republican Candidate at all and the response was that it didn't matter. So at the end my candidate threw in the punch that if he wasn't running himself he'd vote for the democrat and that he had never voted Dem before. The look on Bolling's face was priceless.

Yes, let's take this hearsay as gospel. Vote Obama! They should make a commercial out of it. Oh right.

It's a game they all play.
The only difference between "hearsay" and truth is often a strategically placed camera. The "47%" comments could have been nothing but hearsay in a different circumstance.
