I’m done waiting for anything to break the spell Trump holds over his base, and the Republican Party in general.

He could be in a prison cell in 2028 and even more incoherent than he is now, and his cult will still worship the ground he walks on and propel him to the Republican nomination in a cakewalk.

There will be the beginnings of a movement of sensible republicans that want to take control back from MAGA, for sure. But many of the same people briefly turned against Trump after Jan 6. Almost all of them fell back in line and have let him carry on with the stolen election thing, the crimes, and all the other nonsense for 4 years. What will have changed, because he’ll say all the same things again.
 
If Trump loses ( and he will). Trumpism is dead. If he wins, Vance will turn against him at some point and invoke the 25th amendment

No one in the thoroughly-purged modern Republican Party has the balls to cross Trump, let alone a spineless couch-fucking toad like Vance.

Thiel, Musk & co didn’t install him to overthrow Trump. He’s there in the hope that he’s in the right place at the right time to pick up the ball if Trump wins and then croaks while he’s in office.
