Also another point re: Mexico & Sheinbaum. She's 100% right. If Mexico has responsibility for migrants and fentanyl heading north, then the US has responsibility for illegal guns heading south. What are Mexico's cartels without American hardware?

The anti lockdown "treatise" was of course the Barrington Declaration. Which of course said that lockdowns were bad and the answer was to lock all of the at risk people (like the elderly) away until the coast was clear while the rest of us just got on with things. It applauded the Swedish approach (which the swedes themselves later admitted was a mistake that got a lot of people killed) and further suggested that the way forward was basically to let everyone get infected as many times as necessary to generate herd immunity because what's long covid and permanent disability between friends, right?

I'm sure their management of H5N1 is going to be fucking stellar.
 
Any American government, including Biden's, could of course done much much more to bully the world into getting whatever it wants.

The question is what are the long term costs for US if decides to coeleces without them around. China and Europe. Conservative governments always underestimate soft power and primacy on their prolonged good fortune.
