Here's the article re: the above noted call this morning.
On Thursday, Carney told reporters in Ottawa that Trump's office had reached out to arrange a call and that it would take place "in the coming days."

This part of your timeline is incorrect, at least according to Carney’s public statements (including his speech & press conference yesterday).
What has happened instead is that although Carney’s ministers have maintained contact with their American counterparts in Trump’s cabinet, since Carney became PM, Trump and his team have made no effort to reach out to Carney and Carney and his team have made no effort to reach out to Trump.
Where that changed was yesterday, when Trump’s team reached out to Carney’s team to schedule a call between the two. Carney’s accepted, though at least as of the time of his speech yesterday, the exact time for that call was TBA, though Carney expected it to take place in the next day or two.

There's a part of me that hopes that Trump will mention something about the 51st state, and Carney will just hang up the phone on him.
