Yeah, that's the obvious rebuttal to the comorbidity argument. There's a massive amount of people in society with them.

Most comprehensive estimate has it at 20-30% milder than delta for hospitalizations. TBD on ICUs/deaths. Some reason to believe it's more upper respiratory than lower respiratory and our lungs may get it easier with this one so it's possible infection fatality rate is gonna be a decent amount lower if we're looking at unvaxxed delta vs unvaxxed omicron or vaxxed delta vs vaxxed omicron. But nothing confirmed.

As always if you're vaxxed you're gonna most likely be fine after maybe feeling shitty for 3-5 days.

Aunt and two cousins tested positive last night. Two more adults and one kid in the house testing negative so far with no symptoms.

6 other family members from another household were also close contacts and also tested negative this morning with no symptoms.

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few days as all the negative close contacts are business as usual today

So odd how they were all together the last few days and only 3 of 12 got it (so far)

Brother is a virologist, other brother is an environmental scientist and science has always been my hobby. It's fun and action packed right now! My background is with numbers and data analysis so there is a lot of that intertwined too.

Anyone know the situation in ‘Berta for age for boosters? My kiddo is returning tomorrow and has both doses Pfizer. Last one was around August 20. When would she be able to be boosted? Any ideas?

I don't know the meaning of "casual interest." I try not to pick my brother's brain much because it's annoying as fuck but I learn a lot from a lot of twitter peeps online that he has professional relationships with!



He would definitely disagree that I don't pick his brain much and annoy the fuck out of him
 
He'd be lost without covid! His career exploded since last year. Pandemics are surprisingly good for his line of work.
 
I disagree with calling this a great study. Lotta confounders on first glance... But if this holds we're probably fucked. We need a much bigger reduction than that. Results aren't too different from England/Scotland tho. We're probably gonna ramp up restrictions at some point.
