That, and there's a certain love of compliance and being told what to do in this province. I think the military tradition here and it's influence is pervasive. I also think that the peninsula especially is incredibly Neo Victorian. What people there feel self-righteous and morally Superior about has changed over the decades. The pleasure of self-righteousness and moral superiority hasn't.

I think you could change “I think a lot of people here are over 30” to “everyone here is an over-the-hill bastard for whom their 20’s is a increasingly distant, hazy memory”.

Shockingly, it's a combination of complete bullshit and misrepresented studies & documents. My favourite is the "They killed 1200 people" bit that we've seen around the internet for months now. Not realizing (or realizing and not giving a fuck) that this is all cause mortality of everyone tracked in that data set. Every cancer death that happened within 2.5 months of administering the shot is in there. Every heart attack, etc, etc, etc. The death doesn't have to be attributed to the vaccine for it to show up in that column, it just had to happen within 2.5 months of receiving the vaccine.

Sometimes I really think the "it's just people with comorbidities dying" people don't actually know what comorbidities are.
My Trumper aunt kept repeating that and she's almost 70 with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and prediabetes. All three of her sisters also have comorbidities and had to be like "uh, that's us though??". That's a lot of the US. It doesn't mean they're just expendable.
