OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I wonder what the breakdown in overall health status is of vaxxed vs. unvaxxed. I would guess that the unvaxxed population skews younger and a bit healthier overall, which would make those hospital admission and ICU numbers even more troubling.

Yeah, I had Moderna for my 3rd shot, and it was the same story for me.

Got the shot on Friday evening, and then all day Saturday it kicked my ass too. Had just an unbelievable headache all day, fatigue, aches & pains, chills & no appetite.

The one bit of good news I can give you is that I woke up first thing on Sunday morning feeling 100% with no lingering effects.

I’ve been trying to get an earlier appt. for my booster (Moderna) but unless I’m willing to travel to the burbs, no luck.

Oh well, only two weeks until my scheduled appt.

Yeah, my third was Pfizer and was probably the worst one yet. Hang in there, it doesn't last too long.

70+ vax rate in Ontario: over 96%
60-69: ~93%

12-30: ~82%
30-60: ~85%

Who are the ones being hospitalized and dying for the most part? 70+ers. And they're basically all vaxxed. Age is the biggest risk factor. But you will only really see the benefits of vaccination if you look at actual age adjusted data. i.e. hospitalization/infection rate for an unvaxxed 40 year old vs vaxxed 40 year old. This data could still EASILY be confounded by reinfections in the unvaxxed, mind you. Eventually they will become very confounded as every unvaccinated person will have caught covid at least once. So that will theoretically work like a vaccine.

The Science Table adjusts for age here, although it's not quite fully accurate for Omicron yet. Lag-time still needs to play out.

Lots of appointments available right now at the University of Ottawa campus. Even today!
 
As soon as covid became a thing my first reaction was that pot heads would claim that weed cures covid. And then it happened briefly in 2020 and I haven't heard much since! Glad to see it has resurfaced. They never fail to call weed a cure for literally every single thing on earth.

I (and Ms. Wayward) are officially boosted! Fuck yeah.

Will keep yall posted on side effects. Arm is already a little sore. Had only a sore arm after dose 1 of comirnaty and mildish flu-like symptoms after dose 2 of spikevax. got the spiker again, thanks Loretta.

and we are now making dinner reservations for next week. time to (somewhat) rejoin society.
