OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Having known several cases of youth suicide, the common factors were social anxiety, bullying, and inability to so called fit in. Triggers that may be eased under lockdown.
that was my thinking

sure there are probably some negatives with not going to schools but for many kids not going to the bully factory everyday probably helps them

Well shit.. Mrs. Preston's friend got taken by an ambulance this morning. She just came back from the Dominican so... Not sure what she expected. But it doesn't look great. Mid-30's and in good shape, fully vaxxed.

That's really crappy. Hope she feels better.

More severe dehydration than breathing issues?

Just yesterday she was on a video call with Mrs. Preston that she was struggling to breathe but was wondering if it was in her own head. She did not look or sound good by all accounts. It kinda escalated overnight and into the morning so her husband immediately called an ambulance. Haven't gotten an update since then.

So out of the 3 people I know who took vacations over the holidays, all 3 of them returned with covid. One had bad cold-like symptoms (the oldest one surprisingly), one has been on his ass for a week since testing positive and hasn't recovered yet, and the other is in the hospital.

The study is about covid RISK vs the vaccine. In other words, the study does not compare the chances of myocarditis if you catch covid vs if you are vaccinated. It looks at a 4 month period, calculates the odds of one catching covid during that 4 months if unvaxxed (which changes constantly) + calculates the risk of myocarditis if infected (which is far higher than through vax) and compares that to the risk of getting myocarditis from the vaccine.

Of course, if you are vaccinated the risks of myocarditis if infected are likely to decrease. How much? Not sure. It's a conversation to be had but it's likely a fairly short one considering myocarditis is probably one of the least severe risks you take from catching covid.

What is higher for that particular group: the risk of myocarditis from the vaccine or the risk of death from a covid infection?

Rogan probably does not even know what myocarditis is.

It does illustrate the sheer amount of information out there, much of it conflicting. It's hard for people to figure out the truth, unless you are a true believer of one side or the other like Preston or Beleafer.

That was a joke! But even if you stick to reputable sources, it's still the wild west out there, especially with such a new disease so many places and ways to access information.
