OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I'm no antivaxxer but I'm here to Just Ask Questions. I don't get this

Why does it differ from the official data that the province puts out?

I'm likely missing something here so I'll blame myself.

Oh Moore also said that most of the deaths have been from Delta. Which, of course, makes 0 sense and is a lie. So he probably just lied about the other thing too. Carry on!

Another misleading stat that Moore likes to fire off is length of stay at ICU

I mean ICU admissions being "milder" is a ridiculous concept anyway. Hospitalizations, sure, I can see that. But if you're admitted to the ICU that's a whole different story.

I'm fine with them delivering a positive message but I'm not a very big fan of outright lying. The vaccine data looks great age-adjusted! The lying is unnecessary and just creates more trust issues. Just say that the vaccines are great but old mother fuckers are still dying because they are getting infected at large numbers due to Omicron being a dirty cunt. The end.

So the Brit’s are ditching vaxx certificates and most protocols. Sounds like a last ditch effort by Boris to secure some votes. Wonder how long before this backfires on them. Month? 2 weeks?

12+ vs 18+?

Or live data in house vs public data?

The most exciting bit of info for me:
Hospitalization rates in California followed a similar pattern, the report says. (There were no hospitalization data from New York.) In October, hospitalization rates for people who’d been vaccinated but hadn’t had Covid were 19.8-fold lower than among those who hadn’t had Covid-19 or been vaccinated. The rates were 55.3-fold lower among unvaccinated people who’d had Covid-19, and 57.5-fold lower among people who’d been vaccinated and had Covid-19.

We want to see this. Vaccines before first exposure = crucial of course. So many deaths and longterm symptoms could have been prevented if we had a vaccine in 2020. But we want to see a dramatic reduction in severity in reinfections. Haven't looked at the data itself or how it was collected but this is what you want to see.

It's like tracking "mild gunshot wounds" in a war. He's not a casualty (which sounds bad!), he's the victim of a mild gunshot wound.

You lose credibility if you use the word "bolus" on twitter though.

WTF knows, testing is down I think....so what do the numbers even mean

TL;DR DM Presto
Was just about to respond with this exact answer.

This is just Ford's "good guy" announcement anyway. We'll see what he does the day before whatever day is announced tomorrow.
