OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Someone should just go and occupy that space before the truckers arrive. Tell the student to throw a block party at least it will be less dangerous.

The concerns that loss of taste/smell = brain damage appear to not be the case. Brain damage still happens even in mild cases, but this is not the mechanism thankfully.

going to be one of those really enlightening things when we go to vote again and people you know broadcast their vote for this fuck.

Also, some interesting research out today that T cells from a recent cold caused by a different coronavirus could give some immunity.

This is what all the fuss and hot takes were about? Providing there aren't any unknown safety issues (doubtful considering side effects for this cohort were almost nonexistent) this is a no-brainer. A third dose is likely to do the trick but even outside of that, no brainer.

I think the mistake people often make with Dougie is thinking that he gives any fuck about Torontonians and Toronto proper.
I've had to tell my wife who likes to believe everyone has good intentions how current politics work.

1. The government does not give a fuck about you
2. The government does not care about your wellbeing
3. The government isn't here to help you
4. Unless you are a major donor the only time you will experience any gain from the government is if you align with someone who is a major donor.
5. The government hates everyone who they employ to better society (teachers, doctors, nurses etc.).

If you use that set of guidelines you can understand what decisions they are making.

Let me preface this with saying I am very cynical with high level government and their ambitions.

But I actually know an MP and he absolutely cares about people, Canada and making things better. And I'm sure there are many many others like him. I question if folks like him can make it to positions of more power without being more unscrupulous.

Dougie is probably at the cottage

Also, downtown already hates his guts and votes against him anyway. The 905 will never notice the protests aside from those nice flag waving people on the overpasses!

Yeah, he spent his entire municipal career constantly raging against the "downtown elites". And those downtown voters have overwhelmingly and personally rejected him in both a municipal election and provincial election, and they also hated his brother's guts.

Not to mention he loathes pretty much everyone in City Hall in Toronto, which is why one of the first things he did when he won the Premier's chair was settle scores with them by slashing council in half for no good reason during the middle of a municipal election.

So yeah, he couldn't give a fuck if those protesters burn downtown to the ground.
