OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Except the Japanese are much more interested in perfecting what other cultures bring to the table. They didn't invent denim, but made it better. They're crazy about perfecting whisky and coffee. And I had one of my best pizzas in Japan, from a dude who studied dough making in Italy.

Italians don't seem as obsessed with other cultures and stay in their lane for the most part.
And I went to that exact fucking restaurant. Twice. I forget what it's called.. In Tokyo right? I've seen some videos on him since I came back. He was on some Netflix show too, I think a David Chang one.

Damascus is the oldest continually lived in city in the world. Do you love their food too?

Syrian food is pretty fucking good. (though you can argue that the entire Middle East uses the same cookbook). Check out Petit Alep next time you're in Montreal.

I think we can all agree that brit food is almost uniformly terrible.

Their contribution to world cuisine is Fish and Chips, and Bangers and Mash.

Ironically, Nigel Slater is one of my favourite food writers.

Contemporary England has pretty much adopted Italian as their national food.

I know it is. Greece is also old AF. These cultures have had eons to perfect stuff.

Yeah I will give Preston the benefit of the doubt that he was just not including all the majority of the world with truly bland food - Brits, Vikings, Russkies, slavs, etc.

Danish food (my paternal side) is probably just a notch above British food, but not a whole better. Grandma was a hell of a cook though.

They fucking love curry and shit too.

I was, I was. I was discussing heavyweights.

I've only been to Barcelona and for me it was fucking phenomenal. Where did you go, what did you have?

Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, Alicante. I think I'd echo what CH1 said though, it was good but definitely found a way to get those three things in every dish I tried. Even when I thought I wasn't ordering ham, I'd get surprise ham.

No. I found it very tasty, but after a while you realize there are only just a few flavours. Jamon, oily fish and tomato.
I found the touristy certainly played to that but once I ventured into the places without an English menu or English speakers, there was a far wider variety.
