OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

That wastewater data is SUPER messy. I'm not saying things aren't turning but he should caution from using that to mean much. The "projected" on the wastewater signal changes everyday.

We already kinda know cases are gonna spike though, we've been through this enough times.

Most of society has just made the calculation they're okay with that trade off at this point.

Yeah we'll get 2-3 waves per year it seems. With the "lows" of each wave seemingly higher than the last. Best we've done so far was the summer/early fall of 2020. Virus is everywhere. And we've been forced to accept that.

Back to leaning toward the kiddo having the vid and it just being too soon for a positive test; thankfully still fairly mild so far but this can't be a cold. Mrs. Preston has been with him all day for the last few days so she is likely exposed and told me to isolate, especially since I may the only one able to care for those two in a few days. I'm probably a deadman too but she's adamant that it's worth trying.
no escaping the tentacles of the vid it seems

Kid seems better after a rough night. Breathing a little wheezy, extremely congested, low energy, cough starting to get worse, lots of gagging at random, but overall not bad. If this is covid, it's so far very mild; it is day 4 of symptoms so hopefully it doesn't worsen and he's on the upswing from here. Parents still symptom-free. Not going through another test on him today because testing him is basically this:

And no. I'm not doing that again. If it's covid Mrs. Preston and I will find out soon through an infection of our own and we can test ourselves.

would a positive test change they way you care for him? i am guessing it is not worth it - seems like you are just assuming it is the vid anyway

hope the little one gets better soon

Yeah exactly what we were saying. It doesn't change anything. We're not gonna get any sleep this weekend, whether it's covid or some other illness. Too bad because the kid is typically the Wayne Gretzky of sleep. Never thought I'd get to sleep in more than I used to pre-kid, but here we are.

Thank you though.

Welp, it was a helluva run, but my luck finally ran out after nearly 4 years without being sick.

feeling totally fine, but this is officially a slight coldish thing of some description. had to go to a restaurant last Sat for my brother's birthday, so yeah.

good news is it's barely there. it's kinda like the last day or two of a "real" cold where your nose already stopped running and you're feeling better etc.

I had shot 3 earlier this month, but if it's possible for me to do a rona check guess I should find out if it is indeed rona..

feel better soon but very glad it's mild. how you're describing it is like my post booster omicron experience.

Exposed Saturday and just symptomatic today? That's unusual for omicron but it sounds like you're near asymptomatic so maybe it checks out.

Just wait until you have 6 kids like me. I never sleep.

Hubby has really bad dry hacky cough, sore throat, achy joints etc. for past three days. He did test on day two and three and both were negative. Since other than grocery shopping he’s been no where to get exposed to covid so I’m assuming it just a bad cold or flu. Regardless the treatment is about the same so not much point testing again.

If any other member of the household get it we are probably not going to bother testing. We’ll just stay home until we feel better.

I never did get a positive test result yet had all of the same symptoms of my positive hubs. Assume its Omicron.
