Had 2 people say some variation of "I can't wait for tomorrow" / "looking forward to next week" so far today.

Why, what's happening next week?

No more masks!!

Hurray, let's get rid of the easiest tiniest thing we can do to limit spread of the fucking plague right when cases are surging around the world.
 
I think I will try to grab an n95. Cloth masks seem useful enough if everyone's wearing one in short-term situations (ie. a grocery store), but if half the people aren't wearing them and they also happen to be the dumbest half taking no precautions, we need to step up our own precautions.

we are returning to the office (twice a week) next month and I took the train everyday pre covid - i will now be driving to work - take that environment
i just do not want to use busy public transit because people are gross

This is a good idea actually, I'm gonna dig mine out for public transit.
 
I have been contemplating how I will respond to being potentially accosted by an anti-masker. Haven't landed on my response yet... may just be a spur of the moment thing... although this risks a potential eruption...

I'm just hoping the majority of folks here continue to mask. I certainly will.

I have a couple t-shirts that let people know where I stand, I have no problem explaining to whack-jobs how screwed up they are.

Mind you, I'm not nearly as mask militant as a lot of you, but I like to make sure that, mask or no, people know that I believe in truth and science and anyone who thinks Trump is the answer gets both barrels.

I really hope that we don't fight with each other over these things.

I'm not going to be wearing a mask and I really hope that people don't yell at me. I certainly won't yell at other people.

People really need to mind their own business.

I have no judgment of people who want to wear masks. I expect the same treatment.

We all have different tolerance of risk. We need to accept the diversity of opinions on this matter moving forward even if we don't like it.

Tolerance is essential to a functional society.

I've considered going on a "FREEDOM" rampage. Basically just yelling, "why don't you respect my freedom" "stop trying to violate my freedom", etc.

Honestly, and I've never really felt this way before, a swift punch in the mouth seems most appropriate. But doubt that ever occurs.

yeah to be clear I will not harass people who are following the rules. my issue is with the rules themselves, not people who are doing what they are asked.

this hypothetical is if someone unmasked accosts/confronts me for choosing to continue wearing mine.
