OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

So we had some exposure with a positive case but we later found out she was exposed just a day or two before we saw her. My gut tells me she wasnt infectious yet. We could have caught it elsewhere too tho. Kid had symptoms including a lowgrade fever and a cough the first day and has gotten progressively better since (and 100% today) so maybe another false alarm. Mrs. Preston and I are fine.

Hope you feel ok this time around btw.
Nvm I think it's covid. His fever spiked real high today out of nowhere.

never trust a fart

I will never forget my friend's brother saying to me, after hearing me say something that began with, "well I thought..."

"You know what thought did?," he says to me.
"Thought he was going to fart and shit his pants"

I was 8 and that was the funniest thing I had ever heard.

Meh, was only a matter of time I guess. We were taking more "risks" but nothing particularly crazy. Not sure it matters though. If you even want to live a little, this thing will find you. Hope he gets better soon too and also hope Mrs. Presto and I do alright. I had an easy go the first time but I have a bad feeling about this one.

Of course we catch it on the literal week that we put our house up for sale. Of fucking course.

Fun fact:

My one family member who refuses to get vaccinated caught Covid from his vaccinated girlfriend a few weeks back.

She had a miserable 4-5 days, and he got through it with basically no symptoms whatsoever. Probably never would’ve even got tested or known he’d had it if she hadn’t gotten sick & tested positive first.

Weird-ass virus.

Unfortunately there is no actual evidence that the vaccines necessarily make the illness easier for non-hospitalized, clinically "mild" cases.

They do protect from hospitalization, death, and protect your organs/likely reduce longterm issues tho.

Curious to see how it goes with me the second time around. Seems like long covid runs in my family but my first bout was pretty straight forward despite being unvaxxed.

Kid currently has some horrifying postnasal drip to the point where he's choking on it nonstop. Plus high fevers that we can't really get down using the tylenol/advil rotation. Can't believe they're letting this thing run wild on unvaccinated kids in particular. Fucking madness.

MonkeyPox might put all pro sports out of commission for 2-3 years. Did Leafs miss their window…..News at 11.

I’m pretty sure the Leafs’ window is Russian-made, because their Cup hopes have already fallen their deaths out of it.
