OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

No it really wouldn’t as the sop and method would come directly from the vendor, not the government. Labs add new blood tests all the time, it’s really old hat. As long as phlebotomists can get to patients it should be far smoother than what we’re seeing now. Provided someone doesn’t get his small grubby fingers in the way that is.

Worked in three hospital labs on analyzers from both of those vendors.

But that last part is what I was getting at. This administration has a knack for making easy things complicated.

I called them this morning. They say they’re still waiting on results and to quarantine. Standard script reading response. Florida did not roll this out well and I’m in one of the more proactive areas of Florida. I could just imagine the rural areas.
Or they’re taking care of a GOP voters first and leaving us in the blue counties to wait. I would hope that’s not the case.

random question
but does anybody know what percent of patients in italy, spain, NY, etc are covid ?

Maybe not many but guaranteed there was some couple that did. There were babies named SARS too.
This is true, but I doubt many PATIENTS are named covid. Valid question by worm though. I'm taking a look at the hospital records and will get back to him in the next few days.

I don’t think anyone could give you an accurate number as countries are using differing criteria for the count. I am certain all the numbers of actual cases are understated.

Looks like Florida is actually above average for the country for tests per capita... 6,730 tests per million

Alabama, Kansas, Texas, Georgia, Virginia, Nebraska, and California are close to half that.

So it concerns me that this is your experience.

Yeah? How many actually got their results?

I’m assuming I’m negative because I heard those that were positive get called first.

I think the survival rate of COVID is higher than the survival rate of being a Habs fan anyway.

global update

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
added tests to the chart now
so that is cool

spain seems to be over the hump - new deaths and cases going down - but damn is that a lot of death

italy is similar

it will be interesting to see what happens next there
- in theory they will have some immunity in the community
- how long do they keep things locked up?
- what happens with they relax a bit

germany seems a bit weird - 3 days up then 3 days down then 3 up and now 3 down again

france is super weird - one day they had 23k new cases - the day before they had 3 thousand so i assume it is a testing thing there

UK seems to still be climbing

as for testing iceland appears to be testing the shit outta everyone - like 4 times the nearest "major" place (norway, UAE)
iirc they were one of the quick rising areas a few weeks ago but the seem to have got things under control now
