OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Not sure the validity, but it was an interesting read for sure.

A bit of internet digging and it was written by a guy with a crypto currency youtube channel, Andrew Galziu...something or other, I could find the name again, but it's not important. He's a real person who really isn't a medical professional of any type. His father is a retired MD from Illinois though, but not someone with the type of background to make claims like these. This article is making the rounds on all...and I mean fucking all of the right wing and conspiracy sites. The few doctors I've seen speak about it on twitter say basically 2 things 1) It's an interesting hypothesis 2) They wouldn't trust this guy to put a bandaid on them for the amount of basic medical errors he makes writing it (Malaria for example is parasitic and not bacterial...which he claims, somewhat ironically while calling other people stupid)

It's written just sciency enough that the lay person gets lost in the jargon, but not remotely rigorous enough for an expert to not call bullshit. It smells like a Trump defence force piece to me.

On-fuckin-tario. Wish we had more testing tho. It’s not for a lack of testing capacity

Very sad news, RIP.

John Prine, who for five decades wrote rich, plain-spoken songs that chronicled the struggles and stories of everyday working people and changed the face of modern American roots music, died Tuesday at Nashville’s Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was 73. The cause was complications related to COVID-19, his family confirmed to Rolling Stone.

Prine, who left behind an extraordinary body of folk-country classics, was hospitalized last month after the sudden onset of COVID-19 symptoms, and was placed in intensive care for 13 days. Prine’s wife and manager, Fiona, announced on March 17th that she had tested positive for the virus after they had returned from a European tour.

Alberta projections tonight.

I do not see any official release just what Kenney said so no charts

They did probable and elevated projections.
Going off memory

AB is 4million people

probable 800k
elevated 1.1 million cases

lower hospitalizations and ICU then other provs

stay at home measures until end of april
social distancing end of may

getting out of it

20k test per day, wearing masks, tracing, etc

i like that they have a plan at least

Why is there no mention of Beijing , Shanghai, or Guangzhou in this crisis

Its all Wuhan but these 3 major centers have 100mil people and no virus talk

The virus cant be escaping these locations

With a peak of mid May projection these seems highly optimistic. They are just setting themselves up for a second run of it

How many people do you think had COVID in Canada

The tests are going hard now but many who had flu like symptoms this year probably had it without a test

I say 500k easily in Canada , and most fought it off like any other flu season
