OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

If that's your comparison, then anything is better. Real story - a few years ago my boss from Germany came to the US and we were out for drinks. He had a budweiser, took one sip of it, and basically spit it out. I can stand them, and I gotta say, if you're sitting in 30 degree weather on a beach in Mexico, a Corona is one of the best beers for that.

But stuck at home? Not even close.

As for choices, Beau's is pretty awesome. I like the Amsterdam brews, and am a big fan of Mill St's offerings too. If you like Bud/Corona, then Mill St Organic might be up your alley, although I feel weird mentioning it since anyone worth their sh*t should already know whether you like it or not.

Solid brewery. Can't say I love any of their beers but very drinkable.

Yeah, Blanche is pretty freaking awesome. My favorite beers overall are still the belgian brews, Leffe being probably the most commonly accessible ones in that style.

Yeah then go with that Beau's Lugtread then. Beautiful full tasting lager.

That was the first beer that made me realize how bad everything I was drinking was.That was my gateway beer. Now I drink mostly IPAs and Sours but I still have Lugtread in the fridge.

And if you have to go back to standard beer at least make it a good standard like Red Stripe.

Never loved wheat beer but in my emergency stock ups this month I,'ve decided to expand s bit. Took a bunch of the large bottle German Wheats and gotta say they've all been pretty damn good.

Only mistake so far was grabbing Hoegarden for old time's sake for the first time in decades. Not a good beer.

Any other specific wheat recommendations?

Okay fuck fine. I'll go to the fucking beer store to try that shit. If I don't give a fuck or notice a huge difference between it and corona then that's it. I'm coming back to this thread to scream and will never do craft again.

I am risking my life by getting this shit so it better be good.

The bud thing was a half troll in fairness. It's not as bad as nerds believe but i barely drink beer enough to be a mega fan. Corona is the best though. Nothing comes close. I will happily give up because corona is all I need in my life, for someone who drinks an average of one beer per week.

Your beer takes make me question all your claims about "layering flavors" in the kitchen tbh.


You'll know you're on the right path when you swig a Budweiser/molson and suddenly realize it tastes like piss.
 
Context matters, for sure. I once had a Steam Whistle after mowing the lawn in 40 degree humidex.

It’s a rather pedestrian beer, but that day it was the best f*cking thing I ever drank. It was done in about 20 seconds.

I've tried a total of zero craft beers. I'll find out soon enough if the hipsters are right. Who knows, maybe I'll become an alcoholic like you if I get more enjoyment out of beer now. Stay tuned.

Something odd about Steam Whistle. Never can get my finger on it but it almost has a soapy flavour.
 
Agree on Steamwhistle. It has a weird "finish" on the palate. Can't stomach more than a bottle, if that.

Beau's Lug Tread is basically what Canadian/Bud/Coors are supposed to taste like, instead those are just empty brands obsessed in making swill that yields the most optimal profit margin. That shit is like the Pizza Pizza equivalent of alcohol.
