All of this was public at the time. It was the scientific process in real time. Scientist hypothesizes that one of the elements of the virus may look manufactured --> scientist and team of experts look deeper, analyzes the virus in more detail --> Scientists conclude that virus was very highly likely to be of zoonotic origin. This was all in the emails as well! Perfectly transparent. But people took the emails differently and have concluded that Andersen is behind a mass conspiracy of hiding a lab leak.

Well since those emails were released, Kristian Andersen received several death threats especially as he continued to push against the lab leak narrative and push for science and not speculation. He has unfortunately deleted his twitter because of the death threats. So we have one less voice trying to curb the mindless conspiracy-driven speculation. Too bad.

I’m rather surprised they didn’t include Simcoe/Muskoka. It’s cottage season and the amount of out of town era at our beaches already is wild.

Seems like they sequenced to figure out which regions the Delta variant is predominant and used those as hotspots. I do kinda support the plan of trying to squash the variant using all means necessary. That's the race we're in right now.

I do feel for Ottawa though. Something feels wrong that I'm gonna get my 2nd shot several weeks before Anne and many like her.

I gave the dougman a ton of shit when he was incompetent and ineffectual, so I will continue to give him credit for making some scientifically justifiable decisions.

and credit to him for keeping schools closed. I dunno seems like an obvious choice to me as a spectator but evidently the experts are mixed on that one. I still cannot get over the graphs overlaying school openings/closings with case numbers... the correlation is obscene enough to make it a pretty open and shut convo in my head.

Yeah Doug has been spot on lately. Lotta pressure on him to do the wrong thing and he has been seemingly nailing it. The Ontario vaccine task force has always been very strong. It's good to see they are being listened to.

It’s still not very easy to get 2nd shots but on the bright side 70% of Ottawa residence have received at least one dose.

York Region has about 77% of the adult population on one dose and over 65% of the entire population (including those under 12) with a dose. There are about 250 appointments available at a clinic near me JUST for TOMORROW alone. Hopefully you find something sooner. If not come to the GTA!

I could be wrong I think York region was one of targeted hot spot areas for accelerated shots. Considering the supply issue Ottawa claims to have had 70% is pretty good.

More vaccines are becoming available especially if you are willing or able to travel out to the burbs plus spend lots of time shopping around but even those doses are snatched up pretty quickly.

I’ve been able to move my 2nd dose from late to early July. If need be I’m content with that. My husband hasn’t had any luck moving his yet but he’s usually out biking instead of working the internet. For now of us are really too interested in travelling to the burbs. My daughter likely will be much more pro active when she becomes eligible because of her health issues and now that she’s back at work.

Well off to get my daily exercise. I’ll miss the nice quiet city streets once things businesses start to open.
