OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I’m sick for the first time in a couple of years myself. Symptoms started first thing yesterday morning. It’s mostly some congestion, a bit of a sore throat, fatigue and a splitting headache that kind of comes and goes.

The Covid rapid tests keep on coming up negative for me as well, so it may be just a cold. In the past, I probably would’ve grinded this out and went in to work, but I’ve taken yesterday & today off.

And if I still had the ability to work from home, I definitely just would’ve went on and worked the past couple of days like normal. Instead, I’ll take sick days, leave my department short-handed and split the day between reading & watching TV.
I almost hope you communicated this to the powers that be... although I appreciate why optically you would not want to...

The splitting headache & fatigue are definitely the most concerning symptoms. I had both of those in spades after my 2nd & 3rd Covid shots.

And yeah, like you I typically don’t get headaches.
funny.

I am someone who does get headaches (post-concussion), but don't think I got any covid ones. Go figure.

the fatigue though was maybe the most prominent symptom...

2nd RAT also a negative. Yeah, maybe I've just caught a cold....amazing how we get them way less often when we're generally concerned about it and take any sort of precaution against swapping air born spit with randoms. This is my first cold or flu since the December before covid when I caught a nasty bout of norovirus.

Yeah...it's not covid. You just got playoff stress.

all ribbing aside, I know a few people who have had colds (if their negative tests are to be believed)

Grudging acceptance is not appreciation.

I believe I went on record before the playoffs warning that "they" will not let us play that way. The officiating in game 2 appears to agree with that assessment

Think covid may have finally caught up to me but I'm still testing negative. Sore throat, cough, tired (but that's normal) etc.

Called doctor as I have a history of pneumonia and they said if I'm still testing negative tomorrow then it's likely something else and they will bring me in.

….and everything tastes the same so you can save big bucks on food

Really mbow?

I hate seafood so much I've made it a rule that if I go out to dinner I can't have anybody eating fish...smell ruins everything for me.
I will gladly stay home if people are determined to do the Salmon or Trout, just leave me out of it.

I don't want to lose those senses, but holy shit trying to imagine being able to eat seafood without vomiting.

I hear you. exactly the same for me, the smell (raw or cooking) is just repulsive.
