#BlueJays announce signing of free-agent LHP J.A. Happ to three-year, $36M contract.

LOL that is going to be by far the funniest signing of the offseason. Blue Jays just used their free money on another #4 starter. They needed to just put an extra 8-10m and sign a legit #2. They probably just sealed their fate of not making the post season with this signing. I still can't make sense of this, there is no way blue jay fans are happy with that amount of money and not spending more on a real #2. I'm sure the die hard toronto fans will justify it by saying it's depth though, lol..

It is is also funny that at the beginning of the offseason, everyone thought either Shark/Zimmerman or Price would get slotted into the #1/#2 slot, instead the Jays get Chavez/Happ. A typical Toronto move, never making the right moves to win. 2016 was that last window year while Jb/EE were signed cheap. I guess there's always next year right Toronto fans? Or actually make that another 5+ years so they can rebuild their crappy farm...

Sources: Jordan Zimmermann's deal with #Tigers expected to be 5 years and around $110 million. @JonHeymanCBS first reported agreement.

Parking sucks though there. Also, that atwater exit can not handle the traffic, it's horrible as is, even the side streets. I have no clue how they could fix that.

Parking will be an issue no matter where they build unless they build it at the old airport at Mirabel. As for the other stuff...minor issues

By the time the Expos get a team, almost nobody will need parking. We'll just get dropped off by self driving cars from Uber and Google Taxi.

I expected to you say that by then, The Jetsons' mode of transportation will be in its last few years.

Not joking. Car sales are way down with Millenials. The future is closer than you think. Hope the expos are part of it.

How many more years can the Rays really survive down in Tampa. They most likely will finish bottom in the division next year (assuming Boston signs Price and makes another trade). They were dead last in attendance last year by over 2500 fans/game, taking in about 15322 a game with the average being about 30k. So they get about HALF what the average team gets. I think it will go down even more as they won't be as competitive this year.

You mean like the Expos, when they were not winning all the time?

montreal would need an insane owner (like Trump) to compete in the AL east. The days of a young GM (dombrowski. Duquette) outsmarting the traditional markets with smart drafting and statistical analysis are over. Even the arrogant big money teams now employ an army of statheads.
