OT: MLB Thread

Ironic that former Expos Staub and Valentine were in Mets uniforms that day, as well as future Expo Doug Flynn.

I remember it was a Sunday and after the game I went to see an Oshawa Generals game. Before the game the public address announcer noted the result of the ball game and called on rhe crowd to congratulate the first Canadian MLB team to make the playoffs. The whole arena gave them a standing ovation.

was a Saturday was it not?
 
The Blue Monday game drew under 35,000 if I recall. True, it was rescheduled from the Sunday so people had to work on Monday but that was still pretty bad. And how many Atlanta Braves playoff games during the decade when they made the playoffs every year were not sold out? As the years went by, a lot of them.

But Tampa and Miami are the worst baseball markets in North America. However, they have nice weather and no state taxes so...
 
Texas loaded the Brink's truck up with top shelf players, not sure if Bochy's Giants teams were this loaded.
