OT: MLB Thread

Why don't we get those refugees that are coming in and leeching off the system to build a stadium? That way we can at least get some productivity out of the ~100 MILLION Turdeau wants to spend on them.

Get some unionized workers to lead the charge, and use the man power from these migrants. Vote for me, I'll get er done.

Why am I not surprised?

You can't assume that the dollar will stay at .75 cents forever. These things fluctuate.

Yes, but with debt financed facilities you need to know the worst case scenario because those principal and interest payments do not fluctuate. Banks have very robust step in rights when one or two monthly payments are missed.

The past 2 months have seen the trade deficit shrink quite a bit, with exports gaining traction with our weak dollar. I expect we see several years of a relatively weak CAD. Of course it will fluctuate, but we'll most likely see a stronger us dollar while oil stays under $80 for a bit. Gives a chance for the exporting sector to make some money :)

#Expos were paused in '04. @Nationals began in '05. Please refer to their histories as separate. Thanks. CC: @MLB

Red Sox Nation will take over the Stadium. It won't be a Blow Jays love-fest this time.

not sure about that, Red Sox fans are smart enough to know paying to watch an exhibition game is dumb

I do remember though in one of the last years of Expodom, that guy Big Owe was crowing that they had 25000 at a game in Montreal and stated that was amazing. He neglected to point out 20000 were cheering for the Red Sox.

I went to a pre-season game between the Patriots and Steelers at the Big O back in the 80's when the Patriots were the 4th most important team in Boston after the Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. The Stadium was packed with Steelers fans who didn't care that it was a pre-season game.

I remember seeing Stephane Richer there as well.
