OT: Movies/TV Shows

That’s the thing. The lead up could only logically result in that ending. That’s the way it had to go for everything that came before to matter or make sense. It was an abrupt turn the way they did it.

I think both endings were perfectly plausible and fitting. heck you were just saying how you thought that deep down inside Jimmy was actually a good guy - so they actually gave that good guy some redemption here, like you wanted.

but use square brackets instead of round ones.

Or you highlight the text and click on the crossed-out-eye icon, which you may have to click the three dots to see.

Thx. I didn’t know either, but I do think it’s a bit silly. Everyone who watches would’ve either seen it by now or be avoiding the thread given the conversation but I think we’ve all said what we were going to anyway.

Rewatch the episodes where the Howard plan initially gets formed. I think because you saw them weekly you may not remember the role Kim played in it. It was all her, and Saul tried to get her off of it a few times but can’t, so he goes along with it for her. I put 100% of the responsibility for Howard on her.

Well it's not 100% obviously. And they didn't kill him. heck i don't think they even committed any actual crimes there. I'm not even sure what she would be charged for. And she's still open to that lawsuit anyways.

But it's Jimmy that is the mob lawyer. the actual criminal that deserves jail time.

On the one hand, whenever a new episode or series/season finale has just aired for a big, popular show, I avoid this thread like the plague for fear of spoilers, either until I’ve caught up or it’s no longer likely to be a topic of conversation. And I don’t really understand why others don’t do the same.

On the other hand, I’ve managed to figure out the spoiler tag feature and it wasn’t that difficult, so out of respect I’ve retroactively added it to my posts.

I did think that. But I think the whole point of the series is that the good guy got crushed out of him by life and others. But then out of nowhere, he comes back, and just in time to do something that made zero sense and helped no one.

I just caught up a few days ago, enough to only see 1 episode "live." I think it's fair that others are in the same boat/haven't caught up and may want to continue discussing other shows or movies without getting Saul spoiled. Tags are of course the right thing to do.

I don’t think LGM thought that but he can confirm.

I agree with you that Saul’s big 180 after the plea deal didn’t really make any sense and wasn’t true to character.

That was my only issue with the end of the show though, which overall I thought was good and an appropriate end to the series.

And while I think the end of Saul wasn’t as good as the end of Breaking Bad, that’s not much of a criticism since I thought Breaking Bad had maybe one of the best series endings of all time when its last few episodes are taken into consideration.

Too annoying to do on my phone but will do later at my desk unless Habsy wants to do it in the meantime.

The World According to Garp over here.

Like there's no other shows to finish first. Like there aren't people that prefer to binge when the season is done. I mean whatever dude, I'll just spoil whatever I can for you.

That “only issue” is the whole ending. I’m good with where he ends up, but really disappointed in how he ends up there, and that’s kinda everything for me at least.

It got Kim to be able to look him in the eye again.

Fair point.

Still, again, I’m not really sold on that being such a strong motivation for him, from what we’ve seen of his character, that he’d be willing to throw the rest of his life away.

That said, I thought Kim & Jimmy/Saul’s final scene together in the prison sharing a cigarette together was great.
