OT: Movies/TV Shows

Wow, Fleishman is in Trouble (FX/HULU) really has it's hooks in me. Stayed up way too late watching episodes last night.

I know that not everyone is a fan of Jesse Eisenberg or Claire Daines, but they work well together and Lizzy Caplan is just awesome as best friend/narrator.

I saw Top Gun Maverick for the first time last night.

I honestly never thought the original Top Gun was anything special, not when I was a kid and not as an adult.

But TG Maverick was awesome. Really well done film, that keep me engaged from beginning to end. Great twists at the end, and really good pacing finishing at the 2 hour mark. Cruise is the best.

Yeah just finished the 7 episodes or what not. I can’t believe it was yet another show directed by Taylor Sheridan. How many shows does the guy have going at the same time?
So he didn't write this one, but is listed as the writer on both Yellowstone season 5 and 1923. Am liking 1923, but is anyone else having trouble following the characters?
Am thinking he has too many irons in the fire......

I can’t speak to 1923 but I know Yellowstone quality has suffered at the very least.

His country album is bad, but not, run him over with a snow plow bad
Going back in time......another actor who also sort of a country singer (had a song that charted on the Billboard & Hot Country list) - Michael Parks. Was the lead in a series that unfortunately didn't last:

(not just a 'ripoff' of the movie Easy Rider as the TV series preceeded that film; it was more of another TV series Route 66). Also note in that video clip where he sings the song"Wayfaring Stranger" - a Johnny Cash tune along with Bonnie Bedelia (also played the wife of Bruce Willis in the Die Hard movie franchise) is the real life aunt of Macaulay Culkin.

Yellowstone has become unwatchable. A whole season of cow and scenery filler just to have the total of 10 minutes of Jamie time where they have the one smidge of the semblance of a story they can muster. Cancel this shit please, put it out of its misery like the lame horse that it is.

4 episodes into Kaleidoscope on Netflix. Pretty solid so far. Interesting idea to have a show that can be watched in any order.
