Nice to see Ridley Scott "revisiting" the period. Thought his first directed feature was pretty solid (especially given the limited budget he had to work with):I'll be seeing Napoleon in IMAX tonight. Should be a dandy.
Thank gawd it wasn't directed by Terrence Malick.
Looks like a free 30 day trial. Will check it out.View attachment 18592
If you’re not already watching The Bureau take advantage of Amazon Primes current sales on extra channels and pickup Sundance or whatever it’s playing on, so you can binge it.
Maybe the best show on TV the last couple years alongside ‘Succession’…..it’s a throwback that’s one part ‘The Wire’ and one part John Le Carre espionage thriller inspired by true events, but with the added enjoyment of it also having the backdrop of real world geopolitical backdrops. So both the micro/macro of the show have real life inspirations.
Also just really refreshing watching a show where you know 0% of the cast ahead of time, and that is subtitled and detailed enough that you never want to pick up your phone once, during an episode.
Legit 10/10 show imo, that I can’t recommend enough.
5 seasons though, don't know if I could pull that off.
I know someone who does this, I don't get it. I do sometimes leave a series, book or game and just move on to something else, but I hate myself for it. Generally if I get through 2 seasons of something I'm in it for the long haul. With Lost and Breaking Bad, I had to come back a year or two later and start again from the beginning lol.I usually break up with a series after 2 seasons....but maybe this is another chance to go all the way!

This could be a new show though, 30 Day Binger.
If it's a show like Breaking Bad, I'll keep going 'till the end.
But I find most tv shows to be good, but not great enough for me to dedicate more than 10 hours of my time to the same characters and narrative engine.
ie I watched two seasons of Barry. The first season was very enjoyable but by the end of the season 2, I had enough of Bill Hader's predicament as an assassin who really would rather be an actor. Enough of his one note acting, enough of the jokes about amateur actors, enough of the crazy bald Russian guy ("you'll never know what wacky thing he'll say next in that ludicrous accent")
So...I take the savings in time from not watching Barry, and give something else a chance. It's not like there's a scarcity of content. Plenty of great movies/tv/books that I will never read before I die

At lunch Thin Red Line was on the IPTV so gave it about 40 mins....very very hypnotic...had to turn it off due to work shit, but man was hooked.
Well said...there are some shows that pile on the fatigue and at some point you just tap out....Barry was one of those shows.

This depresses me and my ocd, i guess. It always freaks me out when playing a great game with Chapter Completed achievements & seeing them go down rapidly (Chapter 1 - 82% of people completed, Chapter 5 - 46% of people, Chapter 11 - 24%, etc).If it's a show like Breaking Bad, I'll keep going 'till the end.

But what if things got super interesting in Season 4 of Barry?!
Should say I saw it once before....in a theater downtown Toronto on first release. Forgot how it invokes such melancholic sadness. This man has great taste in art.
