OT: Movies/TV Shows

Came accross To Catch a Killer on a streaming service and went for it cause im a huge Ben Mendelsohn mark, and it's very very good dark police thriller. My only miss on it is that while she wasn't bad persay, i couldnt quite buy Shaliene Woodley as the lead.
That's the film I crapped on (Not for quality) for claiming it was "Baltimore" when it's clearly from the first scene shot in Canada. Baltimore does not get snow like that.
I love Mendelsohn. Amazing actor. Did Woodley is weak in the lead.

Yeah that sort of thing doesn't really bother me. I can forgive a good movie that doesn't have the budget to be authentic enough to look like Baltimore.

The snow isn't much they can do about. I do think the "New York" in Scream 6 was pure laziness though. There are parts of Montreal you can shoot in to make it look more like New York.

I think there was a solid Netflix documentary about the real life story Rush was based on, came out around the same time.

Senna is still the gold standard racing doc tho….goddamn that was good.
I saw a really good doc done by the BBC about the "Golden Era" of F1 racing back in the 60's and 70's where the motto was basically "Safety shmafety". Drivers like Jackie Stewart had to lash wrenches to their steering wheels so they could get themselves out of the cockpit if they crashed because they'd be dead before any help reached them. The race in Germany went through a forest with huge trees on either side of the road. One slip up and the car would go straight into a 300 year old trunk. Crash barriers made out of hay bales that burst into flames as soon as a car plowed into them.

I remember watching that race live and they actually had the in car view when he went into the wall. Scary shit.
