Although I thought, "Why would I want to see ANOTHER retelling of the Uruguay crash in the Andes", I watched Society of the Snow and it's fantastic. It wouldn't be fair to compare it to "Alive" from 1992 (I recall liking it and will watch again), as it's been so long since I've seen it. But that was more of a Hollywood production. This feels much more real and compelling.

Ok, so I watched "Alive" after the Leaf game last night. It has not aged well and not in the same league as Society of the Snow. Alive fees like it's just shot mostly on a soundstage with a few shot of mountains that looks like B.C )Some of the makeup on the wounded, and frozen beards are hilariously awful). Also, they don't quite look that bad or "Dirty" after weeks of being on the mountain. SOTS really captures the grittiness of the situation.

True Detective had a pretty good first episode. They are trying to make it seem like it's the first horror/supernatural season, but I think it's a red- herring. Standard murder case I think.
Shot in Iceland, it captures the dark/cold atmosphere well. They are trying for 'The Thing" feeling.

When I tune into the Grammy's (rather when I record them, if I remember even, and watch on fast forward to see the performances), I quite literally don't even know half of the performers. Sometimes I'll recognize a song without knowing the performer. And 90% of the time, after hearing the first 20 seconds of the performance, I skip past it because it sucks.
