OT: Movies/TV Shows

True Detective has always been a tough watch. Even the first one, which I liked, it felt like I dragged myself through it for not much of a payoff.

I saw the next season too, but I don't even remember if I finished it. Just too much.

I'm not bothering with any more of that series.

So I finally watched the newest Indiana Jones, fully expecting to suck ass.

but it did not, in fact, suck ass.

Lemme guess, you were eating a nice prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sandwich while watching it

The 1st season of TD is incredibly overrated. The 3rd one I thought was pretty good.

I thought season 2 was terrible.

I only watched the first season and it was pretty awesome as dual character studies, but it sure wasn't much of a "crime'mystery" or whatever you call them.

good thing too because i don't like crime/mystery shit anywyas. but there was no mystery to solve it was just one rando weirdo that could have been any rando weirdo in the story.

And funny enough, the "killer" or whatever who was revealed on S1, where it was a basic nobody to the whole series, was also a guy in my street hockey game.

It's better than Crystal Skull, which tells you very little about if it's bad or not.
The actual mcguffin has been bad past 2 movies in Indiana Jones series.

You street hockey with Taylor Kitsch?
For one summer while he was in LA and living near our rink, yeah. I think it was two summers ago, maybe three by now. He had a couple of friends of his play too who were also really good.

We all still talk about how that summer's games were top notch, best collective talent we've ever had. Kitch and I connected on a really nice goal in one of the games, I still recall it vividly. And in another game I stole the puck off him pretty bad, also a fun memory. He's a really good player.

I was shocked he was playing with no helmet or cage, considering his profession. Doubt his agents would've been pleased.
