OT: Movies/TV Shows

I recommend watching Jerry’s movie, just to chuckle at Jonas thinking he might be meant to be taking it seriously.
I was embarrassed by my comment, but in my defense, it was very early in my watch and i wasnt laughing at all, so i held out room for the possibility it wasnt a comdey

Yeah it’s definitely a very stupid movie….like Ray though, I enjoyed the ride for some dumb reason.

It had just enough nostalgia, and a splash of Pee Wee’s Playhouse type surrealism, to keep me watching.

It was a weirdly enjoyable 3/10.

I can respect this rating.

I did laugh out loud once, just once, but everything else about it i found just painful

castin Amy Schumer didnt help.

Bert, Tom, Schultz, Tony, Ari, Schaub, Callen, De Lia are all talentless hacks.

took me a while to figure out you were talking about the roast.

but even just watching the clips I was like "who the fuck are any of these guys".

I slept through a good portion of the middle of it, probably all the nobodies' sets.

Hart was decently amusing, Glaser was pretty funny, Ross was funny, and Burgundy of course. Affleck was lame as fuck, and the worst was probably Brady, who on the surface did a good job, I guess, but took his cool rating down several notches by acting like a trash talking bitch who is madly in love with himself.

if it wasn’t for the Rogan, and his need to surround himself with people as unfunny as himself. They’d all be unknown club comics.

I just want to make note of the fact that the only thing at the roast Tom Brady got angry over…..was making fun of Robert Kraft for being a 80 year old sex pest that frequents rub-n-tugs filled with sex trafficked women.

Brady is a piece of trash.

I don't think he even got angry over it. At the time, it looked like no more than a Howard Stern-ish "hey now!", like he was just saying it without meaning. I actually saw a clip of a Ross interview today where they asked him if Brady was actually angry about it and he laughed it off and said not at all, they were just having a good time. I believe it.

Since I'm not an NFL guy (thanks to no TO team), I can't even name 5 current NFLers. I only know Brady because of his unbelievable career, and see little snippets and sound bytes of him here and there. From a distance, he always presented as someone with decency and class. I was totally shocked to see him act like he did at the podium. It was a terrible look to be talking and acting like that. He went to almost a zero for me now.

I hate Brady

But it's almost like you've never watched a roast before.

what they're all Rogan's buddies? fuck,

Yeah they’re all comedians that had middling nothing careers prior to being amplified by Rogan as regulars on his podcast….

….and seriously Joe Rogan is like comedically challenged. Whatever part of the brain it is that gives one comedy timing & wit…he’s completely devoid of it.

He’ll have real comedians go on there and try to riff with him in real time (like any of us do with buddies, but comedians are especially known for)…..and he doesn’t even catch that it’s going on. It’s kinda riveting, given how bizarre it is.

I've seen most of them. But I didn't expect the best football player in history to get up on stage and start talking like whatever that was. It's not the written material, but they way he delivered it, like some punk kid instead of what I expected, which was maybe with a little more humbleness. I don't know how to even really describe why it was so bad, but it was.

Glazer confirmed on Stern that it was real….and that Ross went up to her after worried he’d gone over the line with the joke.

nothing else came of it obviously, but in the moment it was real from Brady, and caught on open mic saying “don’t say that shit again” as Ross was setting up another Kraft joke.

Traditionally the roastee gets one over on everyone of the roasters and can do it in a pompous fashion. Im assuming Brady's intent was to look like this. I mean who the hell knows? im perfectly content believing he's just a dick.

I do believe he has the ego to do this roast and thinks it's the biggest roast ever because he's tom brady.

the fact he wouldnt tolerate the Kraft jokes makes him the true bitch though, almost everyone roasted in the last 20 years besides Trump offered free reign on any topic ( trump fwiw, would allow anything except challenging how much money he was actually worth, which is so on brand)

Ross himself definitely denied it, and it looked like just for show to me, but if she said that, then that's the truth of it.

Bert Kreisher in particular is fucking embarassing.

Glazer's underrated line was about his one joke ( the shirt is supposed to stay on...and you take it off) was fantastic.

Glazer should be exponentially more popular than any of the hacks Rogan has made millionaires out of.

She’s talented af, and a great podcast guest on anything she does.

A true shame she must say yes to things lik Fuck Boy island.

Her set, in the Brady roast was pretty close to as top tier as it gets. The only ones i think are better are Patrice O'Neale on Charlie Sheen, basically most of Greg Giraldo's sets, and Anthony Jeselnik
