OT: Movies/TV Shows

So I saw the Odyssey on IMAX last night—fantastic movie. And even as someone who rarely goes to see movies in the theatre anymore instead of watching them at home, this is the perfect, big spectacle of a movie to watch in theatre on the biggest screen possible.

Epic adventure, great story, amazing visuals and a few scenes that’ll give any horror movie a run for their money.

Also—one particular departure from the source material that I was very happy with:

In the source material, when Odysseus returns home in disguise after 20 years, his faithful old, dying dog that’s been waiting for his return recognizes him and wags his tail. But Odysseus can’t acknowledge his dog without revealing himself, so he’s forced to just ignore his dog, who then dies as Odysseus walks by, weeping.

I was dreading this scene for the entire movie, but then the movie version of Odysseus instead kneels down and gives his goodest boy the pat he deserves. Thank you, Christopher Nolan.

Check out Taskmaster New Zealand and Australia too...season two New Zealand is one of the best Taskmasters ever IMO...but in general they fit the vibe and should enjoy them.

I've done some of the Scandinavian ones, found some gems here and there.

Not Sweden's version though...that's worth checking out just to see how much they screw it up, though nobody beats the Americans for that.
